A special thanks to Mary Vogt, Superintendent of Bement CUSD #5, for leading the presentation, and thank you to our presenters, Mindy McGuire, Principal at Meridian CUSD #15, Mark Vogelzang, Piatt County Sheriff, Lt. The Regional Crisis Response and Reunification Team, comprised of local school administrators/staff, law enforcement, fire, and emergency management, has been meeting and planning for over two years now to coordinate our school safety plans and to standardize our response methods. We recently had the opportunity to bring in Jason Kelley, a retired law enforcement office and instructor with the "I Love U Guys Foundation", for a full-day training on the Standard Response Protocol and Standard Reunification Method. The training prepared the team to go out and train members of their organizations on the standardized methods. The safety of our area students is a priority, and we will continue to train and plan knowing that we are stronger together. If you would like to learn more about the "I Love U Guys Foundation", please visit iloveuguys.org.
